Main types of screw type ship unloaders
Screw type ship unloaders can be divided into three types: self-propelled, fixed and floating according to whether the whole machine can be moved and the installation position. They are suitable for different dock loading and unloading process systems.
The self-propelled screw type ship unloader is characterized by a walking mechanism, which can walk along the track laid at the front of the dock. It uses the coordination of walking, rotation, pitching and swinging to unload the cargo hold of the seagoing ship. In addition to unloading the unloaded materials onto the belt conveyor parallel to the dock shoreline, they can also be transferred to the belt conveyor that can pitch around the hinge point at the end of the gantry to directly deliver the materials to the yard.
The self-propelled screw type ship unloader is suitable for coastal and inland ports with vertical quayside docks, and the target ships are various bulk cargo ships. In the loading and unloading process system of special docks for bulk cargo such as cement, fertilizer, grain and coal, the self-propelled screw type ship unloader has many successful use experiences and has increasingly proved to be an economical and efficient unloading equipment. Self-propelled screw type ship unloaders are also widely used in coal unloading operations at power plant docks.
Fixed screw type ship unloaders are directly installed on pier docks. The unloader uses the coordinated actions of the rotation, pitching and swinging mechanisms to unload ships. Fixed screw type ship unloaders are suitable for unloading open barges in inland ports. Their operating range should meet the requirements in the direction of ship width. The unloading position in the direction of ship length can be achieved by moving the ship.
Floating screw type ship unloaders are installed on pontoons. According to whether they can be moved, there are two types: fixed and mobile. Floating movable screw type ship unloaders are installed on floating flat-bottomed pontoon docks or floating transfer docks. They can move along the longitudinal track auxiliary on the floating dock to unload or transfer ocean-going cargo ships.
